I haven't gone through with the contract yet, but I've quoted with several companies and Matrix was by far the easiest to work with and the most professional. Matrix price is pretty much in line with everyone else, but I'd argue Matrix's value for the money is far greater from what I've seen. I chose to write this review because of my experience with the designer/rep that came to my house; Brian Westrom. Super knowledgeable and has great vision. If you're looking to finish your basement and don't know where to start, Brian can put it together and present it very clearly.
Amazing!
Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness Thank you Matrix Basement for making my dream become a reality! Jordan came up with a basement layout that I never would have, and it worked perfectly to incorporate what we wanted done with the basement space. That included dry bar, main area for kids, theater room, and lots of storage space. Jamie was the project manager and kept the work pace moving along and the job was completed on time. I could list everyone that worked and rave about their skill, but that would take too long. My wife and I had high expectations, but they exceeded on every level. We love the quality of materials used and the professionalism of everyone who came to our house. Everyone followed safe Covid practices (masks) and made minimal noise. My wife and I are loving our new finished basement, its now the most comfortable area of the house. Matrix works with 2 financing companies which was an added bonus to make the loan process easy. Partial basement
Overall a good experience with Matrix. Their team was flexible and accommodating as we worked through issues that arose during the project. The trades were competent and for the most part the project was well coordinated and tracked. The renovation was of good quality and we would recommend Matrix.
Awesome Job
Matrix is a great team to work with. They were very professional from Day-1 with the first meeting, detailing the project, understanding the requirements in detail, asking the correct questions and giving friendly suggestions etc. Once the work started, Daniel Barron was our Field manager, having a vast network of experienced professionals, all worked as per schedule to finish the project on time. Daniel is very friendly and cool to work with. Finally, Matrix delivered the exact same basement, which we had in mind. Thank you for that. They follow the City permit rules and make sure everything gets approved before handing over the finished project. I will surely recommend Matrix to my friends and contacts.
Great scheduling, quality and people
We chose Matrix to finish about 1000 square feet in our basement because of their great reviews, so I’m motivated to share our experience to help others decide. I will provide the great, good and the few concerns as well. Let’s start with the positives: On time: loved their scheduling, And they stick to the schedule. This was high priority for us. They delivered a great looking basement in two months, just as they promised. Quality people: all the people who came were good people , hard workers, and did a very good job. The carpenters, painters, drywallers etc were outstanding. Project manager: Daniel was our project manager. We thought he was the BEST! He kept everything on schedule, communicated in very timely way, and I trusted him completely. Planning: They are really good at planning the whole process. They deliver supplies on time. Pick up garbage on time. All the contractors show up when they are supposed to. That’s nice! Concerns and Issues: Sales process: Didn’t like the sales process. It’s vague. In many ways you don’t know what you’re getting. I felt that they don’t share some things because they want to save money. I didn’t feel we got the full disclosure always. This happened with a stair nosing issue. A manager at Matrix told me emphatically that there were no other options for stair nosing that is flush to the floor. Great Looking Basement
I have used Matrix Basement systems to finish my basement. I could not have been happier with their work. They were very professional and took care of all the work and kept me informed through out the construction work. They pay attention to detail with all their work and worked with me to ensure even the minor of things are to my liking. It was stress free as Matrix took on the responsibility of getting the required permits to getting the approvals from the township. I would highly recommend Matrix to anyone who is thinking of having a hassle free process to get their basement finished.
Great work = Wonderful basement
Matrix did an amazing job finishing our basement! This was a long time coming and they listened and gave us there input on what we wanted/ needed. The schedule was on point and they did not stray away from it despite COVID. Our main contacts were with our GC Ben and Jay, which were very attentive and communitive. All the crews were all very respectful and did great quality work. I'd recommend this company to anyone looking to finish their basement.

We could not be happier with our new basement! Professionalism was displayed throughout the entire experience. The vision of our basement was brought to life with the help of the design team. Our Field Manager, Jamie Verhines, was amazing! The entire process went smoothly with his help. Having built our house 4 years ago, we were nervous dealing with contractors. Needless to say, Jamie put our nerves to rest. We had many questions and changes to our plan during the process, but Jamie was patient/able to help us the whole time. All of the crew members were very respectful, and cleaned up after themselves. I would not hesitate to use Matrix for your basement remodel.
We love our basement!
We met with a few different contractors in the area before we finally decided to choose Matrix Basements. It was there friendly and honest staff that won us over. We were able to design our basement the way we wanted it to be done and the staff made sure of it. All of our concerns were addressed throughout the whole process. We felt like everyone we worked with was so patient with us! We couldn't have asked for a better company to work with. We would highly recommend Matrix basements if you want your basement finished with high quality service from reliable and friendly staff.
