When we’re not remodeling and finishing basements, we love to browse our favorite blogs for interior design tips and tricks. As we take on new and exciting projects - creating game rooms, offices and even home cinemas in newly remodeled basements - we give our imagination an extra boost by reading blogs from designers, DIYers, furniture makers and everything in between. 1. A Beautiful Mess

Written by sisters Elsie and Emma, A Beautiful Mess is a lifestyle blog with a huge cult following. The blog is all about creating a ‘beautiful life’ - and the decor section is particularly brilliant! The ‘At Home With’ features insight into some incredible homes that push the boundaries of interior design, while the DIY home section gives some achievable ideas for you to do yourself. Our favorite section is the insight into Elsie’s own home - her living room is to die for!

2. The Peak of Chic

If you want an insight into the world of style and interiors, you should check out The Peak of Chic - a blog founded by design history enthusiast Jennifer Boles. From Tony Duquette to Elsie de Wolfe, this sophisticated and intelligent blog has won much critical acclaim - and for good reason. With blogs dating back to 2006, it’s not difficult to while away many hours reading Jennifer’s fascinating posts.

3. IKEA Hackers

Everyone is familiar with Scandinavian furniture giant IKEA, but IKEA Hackers puts a brilliant new spin on the familiar furniture pieces. Focusing on re-purposed, modified products, the Hackers projects range from simple embellishments to head-spinning transformations. We love this Tree House Playland, created from two Kura beds: every child’s dream!

With signs of climate change all around us, it’s more important than ever to embrace a clean, green lifestyle.
